Tradition has always said that invites are from the parents,
but in this modern age it can come from whomever is appropriate, depends who's paying!
You can be informal and have
" Tara and Nick would like to invite"
or " Mr and Mrs Micheal Smith request the pleasure of the company of"
but ultimately the invite is personalised from you so it can say whatever you would like your friends to see!
One of my favourites is still " Harry would like to invite you to the wedding of his parents"

It's your invite, it sums up the style of wedding you are having and so it should say what's most appropriate
for your very own, personal, meticulously planned wedding!
